The Lord
Mayor’s Show, 6 June,

5pm, Council House and Victoria Square.
The theme for this year’s Lord Mayor’s Show is Women and Faith: Commemorating the Role of Women
and Faith in the First World War.

Seun Kuti + Egypt 80.
The
youngest son of Afrobeat founder and legend Fela Kuti, brings his father’s 16 piece funk fuelled orchestra, Egypt 80 and the spirit and beats of
Africa to The Drum on 14 June.

FESTIVAL offers a unique programme of theatre, dance, circus, music, food,
visual and more. Celebrating European culture, the festival takes place in

update on the progress we are making against the Year One Action plan, which is
being monitored by the Birmingham Independent Improvement Panel.
Wheelie bin collections to start in North Birmingham. Residents
living in the districts of Erdington, Perry Barr and Sutton Coldfield are being
reminded that wheelie bin collections start in their neighbourhoods from the start of June.
Next
steps for Paradise. A new set of road measures
have come into operation supporting the Paradise redevelopment with access
changes affecting Paradise Circus, Sand Pits/Parade, Broad Street and Summer
Row.

Community Flag by 28 June. Cllr Mike Leddy, chair of the
Birmingham Flag Project Team, said: “This is a wonderful opportunity to create
a Community Flag for Birmingham and help instil civic pride in this great city

Birmingham City Council has scooped Gold at the
prestigious Chelsea Flower Show for the fourth year
running for its spectacular display celebrating 300 years of Birmingham
Cathedral. Birmingham was also presented with the Diamond Jubilee Award for the
best exhibit in the Grand Pavilion.
Birmingham City Council new Cabinet confirmed. The city
council's new Cabinet and other committee line-ups were officially announced at
the authority's Annual General Meeting on 19 May. Read more on the Newsroom here
Town Council
ballot for Sutton Coldfield. Residents on the electoral register in Sutton
Coldfield will be taking part in a consultative postal vote from 25 June to
give their opinion on whether they want a town council for their area.
