The City of Tacoma’s Information Technology Department, SAP Center of Expertise is currently recruiting for a highly motivated, energetic, qualified candidate interested in innovation, to join its Business Solutions Functional team. The team is responsible for the configuration, support and maintenance of the City’s SAP ECC 6.08 ERP application. The employee in this position serves as a subject matter expert for SAP modules Financial Accounting (FI) and SAP Controlling (CO). This work requires independent analysis of moderate and complex situations and strong communication skills.
 
The Functional Analyst position is a mid-level position in the Business Analyst series, with excellent promotional growth opportunities, learning from Senior Analysts on the SAP FMAS Functional Analyst Team and working directly with the Business Units and other IT Teams, The responsibilities of this classification include providing functional analytical support to end users, translating business requirements into functional solutions, collaborating with SAP ABAP development team and performing testing for projects and production support initiatives. Business Analysts will conduct workflow and interface analysis, develop custom reports and queries, execute testing during implementation of processes, upgrades, conversions and enhancement requests.
 
The candidate must have knowledge of SAP Financial Accounting & Controlling processes or application experience in the SAP FI/CO modules to perform the primary duties & responsibilities: 
 
  • Provide support on Service Requests and Incidents reported by end user community; including troubleshooting, root cause analysis and corrections to solve issues in Production systems.
  • Analyze business requirements to determine if a request can be fulfilled by business process changes or if a technical solution is required via configuration change and/or development. 
  • Collaborate with business and technical teams to design functional solutions to fulfill business requirements; design, build, test and deploy functional solutions. 
  • Document processes and functional specifications for system changes and partner with development team through build and testing cycles.
  • Identify and document requirements for integrations between SAP and other City Enterprise applications, construct business processes and workflows
  • Communicate effectively with customers and team members on complex and integrated system processes and applications; provide input to proposed solutions, projects, and modifications.
  • Execute functional changes, conduct unit testing and system integration testing. 
  • Coordinate user acceptance testing and parallel testing with end users; verify data integrity and testing results
  • Maintain system integrity by following best practices for configuring, developing, testing, security and system maintenance.
