Enjoy Earth Day Activities April 27

Clean Up, Evanston 2016


Stop by the Evanston Ecology Center this Sat., April 27, from 9 a.m. to noon, for free, family-friendly Earth Day activities! Community members are also invited to join Mayor Hagerty for a tree planting ceremony and proclamation celebrating "Natural Areas Day" at the Clark Street Beach Bird Sanctuary at 10 a.m. Volunteers can also register to clean up a local park or green space as part of the City's "Clean Up, Evanston!" event.

Downtown Evanston Farmers' Market Season Begins May 4!

The Downtown Evanston Farmers' Market will kick off its 44th season on Sat., May 4, 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., at University Place and Oak Avenue!  This year, up to 60 vendors will sell a wide variety of goods, including fruits, vegetables, meat, flowers, cheese, milk, eggs, baked goods and more. Come hungry; food will be sold on site.

Take a break from your smartphone and celebrate Screen Free Week, April 29 to May 5. The Evanston Ecology Center will host free daily drop-in activities for all ages, Monday through Friday, from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Downtown Evanston businesses will also celebrate with a variety of special activities and events throughout the week.
