What:

With February being Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month, the Kentucky Department of Education’s (KDE’s) Office of Career and Technical Education is hosting a CTE Showcase. The showcase will highlight 32 CTE programs from across the Commonwealth with displays of innovative projects showing the benefits of CTE.

Highlights will include: metalwork in machine tools and welding; a student-created school news channel; a welding simulator; demonstrations in health science; an architectural model of a home; a carpentry program; a hydroponics program that supports the community; flight simulation through Bluegrass Aerospace Collaboration; and equine studies.

Guests also will be able to watch students bend conduit, see a solar car team in action and learn how CTE is combatting the teaching shortage.

Funding for the showcase is made possible through KDE’s Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief funds (ESSER II).

When:

Tuesday, Feb. 21, from 1:30 to 4 p.m. ET.

Where:

Kentucky State Capitol, 700 Capital Ave., Frankfort
