Councilmember Nehring's March Newsletter

Snohomish County NewsNate Nehring

Dear North County Neighbors,

In this month’s newsletter I will highlight a number of events and accomplishments from the County Council in February including county department tours, Snohomish County Update presentations, our Building Bridges Tour, biennial budgets, and more.

NACo Legislative Conference in Washington D.C.

Each year, the National Association of Counties (NACo) hosts a legislative conference at our nation’s capitol in Washington D.C. The conference is an opportunity to advocate for Snohomish County’s federal legislative priorities with our Congressional delegation, learn about innovative solutions from counties across the country, and participate in committee meetings.

This year’s conference was February 11th-14th and I joined Councilmembers Mead, Low, and Dunn as well as Treasurer Sullivan in Washington D.C. We learned about solutions in other parts of the nation on key issues from childcare to transportation and also had the chance to hear from staff at federal agencies and Congressional offices.
