MEDIA ADVISORY: Kentucky School for the Deaf to host Gallaudet University 2023 East Regional Academic Bowl

Who:

What:

The Kentucky School for the Deaf (KSD) is partnering with Gallaudet University to host the 2023 East Regional Academic Bowl on March 9-12. A mock match will be held March 8 at 2 p.m. for interested media to observe. This is the only media oppportunity, as the KSD campus will be closed to media during the actual competition.

Teams of students representing 18 schools in several different states, including KSD, will compete against each other in a series of quiz-style events over the course of four days.

The Gallaudet University Academic Bowl was established to foster academic excellence, healthy competition and sportsmanship among deaf and hard-of-hearing youth. Every year, Gallaudet University hosts regional competitions for teams of deaf and hard-of-hearing high school students. Winners of the regionals will compete in the Academic Bowl Nationals at Gallaudet University on April 20-24.

The Academic Bowl is being held in conjunction with KSD’s 200th Anniversary.
