Project Updates
We are excited to share some big news! The eFORT Relocation Project team successfully migrated DOLA and DORA’s servers, hardware and applications out of eFORT on March 11. The project is now 29% complete.
Our team plans to migrate DNR and CDA out of eFORT on March 18 and HCPF on April 22, 2023, with more to come soon. Keep an eye out for updates for your agencies - the team will be working with agencies to evaluate server, application and hardware inventory at eFORT for migration to the Cloud or the Lakewood Data Center and decommissioning outdated equipment. With each successful move out of eFORT, we are consolidating physical IT assets, expanding the use of cloud infrastructure and becoming more efficient in how our state data is collected, stored and used.
The ISE implementation is running at full speed, with work already completed last month for CDA, CDLE (workforce centers), HCPF and DOLA. ISE only allows authorized access to the state's network. Threats will be avoided by preventing unknown devices from accessing the state’s network and only allowing access to the internet.
Upcoming maintenance periods to implement ISE have been approved and are planned for April for DPA, CDOT, DNR, DOR and CDLE (headquarters).
Phase 3 was successfully implemented at the end of February, providing more reliable phone service at more than 20 locations for CDOT, CDLE, CSP, CDPS and OIT that were upgraded to SIP trunking.
The project team is planning for Phase 4, which should occur in May. Stay tuned!
After about 10 months involving many late hours and weekends, March 3 marked the last router refresh work needed for this project. The work completed to replace aging hardware ensures that our network infrastructure is up-to-date, more secure and can efficiently support business operations without interruption.
The breakdown:
- 37 locations upgraded
- All OIT-supported agencies were impacted
The project will be closed after DNS servers are moved behind the edge firewall, which is expected to be completed by the end of the month.
All of this work was planned and completed three months ahead of schedule. Kudos go to the Network team and everyone involved in this significant accomplishment!
The Mainframe stabilization is underway, and the timeline will be published soon. The discovery effort started in May 2022 is now 95% complete.
The team is collecting details on jobs still running and a list to work from that continues to evolve. The testing plans for the re-hosting work are in progress with the agency teams.
The stabilization effort is separate from the modernization projects. More information will be shared as plans come together for the modernization effort.
The “lift and shift” to a new platform is expected to occur during the summer or fall of 2023.
The TIBCO Managed File Transfer (MFT) project team was able to successfully test a streamlined configuration resulting in a $40 thousand dollar savings by eliminating the need for TIBCO consulting.
Next up, the team is working on defining the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud requirements needed to implement TIBCO MFT. The team is also working on the IRS and Social Security Administration (SSA) requirements for notifications to the federal government.
Due to their hard work and collaboration with our agency partners, the Automated Child Support Enforcement System (ACSES) Project, Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) Project and State ID Module (SIDMOD) Project teams have delivered solutions to leadership for the modernization of these applications.
The ACSES Project team received approval from CDHS and is moving forward with their proposed solution. The EBT and SIDMOD Project teams have also received agency approvals for their proposed solutions. The teams are ready to get started on the modernization efforts for these applications and systems.
Congratulations, and thank you to all who made these big wins possible! Keep an eye out for more information coming soon!
The project team is making significant progress. As of Feb. 2023, 47% of the overall project has been completed. DOR, DOC, & DOLA are next and will be remediated between March 8 - 28, 2023.
Watch for communications from the team as they continue to reach out to agency partners to schedule remediation and testing!
