Letter from the Mayor

Dear Washingtonians,

I want to thank all the people who came out to our "Spring Into a New Career" hiring event at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library earlier this week. Our teams had the opportunity to talk with more than 2,000 people about hundreds of career opportunities in DC Government.

No matter what you are passionate about, there is a role for you in DC Government. We are a diverse team of people who love DC, and DC Government is a place where you can make a great salary, with great benefits, and grow professionally while doing meaningful work.

If you weren't able to make it this week, you can explore career opportunities online:

  • The Department of Parks and Recreation is hiring for hundreds of positions. Learn more: earnwithDPR.com
  • We have the best teachers in the country. Join them: dcps.dc.gov/page/dcps-career-opportunities
  • We also have the best police officers in the country. Join them: joinmpd.dc.gov
  • We have hundreds of jobs open across DC Government agencies. Explore them: careers.dc.gov
  • We also have appointed positions open — perfect for people who love DC and love working hard for our city. Become an appointee: mota.dc.gov/jobs

Whether you're looking for a new career, your first career, or maybe the same career in a new environment (the best city in the world) — we want you to consider working for DC.

Sincerely,

Muriel Bowser
