Pilot Project Launched to Improve Road Safety
The DC Department of Transportation (DDOT) and The Lab @ DC in the Office of the City Administrator announced the launch of a pilot program to send targeted messages to some of the DC area’s riskiest drivers.
Through data from the Automated Traffic Enforcement (ATE) cameras, The Lab identified vehicles with drivers at greater risk of being involved in a crash. They will receive a text message, letter, or both with information on the risks of unsafe driving and their responsibility to make DC roads safer.
