Shoreline Management Plan (SMP), Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) and Habitats Regulation Appraisal (HRA) record

The Dumfries and Galloway Shoreline Management Plan (SMP) has been updated and will be adopted by Dumfries and Galloway Council on
28 April 2023.

The refreshed plan establishes a robust, evidence-based and long-term sustainable approach for managing the risk of coastal flooding and erosion along each part of the Dumfries and Galloway coast. A Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) and a Habitats Regulations Appraisal (HRA) record have also been prepared as part of the Plan.

The SMP, SEA and HRA reports will be available to view at www.dumgal.gov.uk/SMP  

A printed copy of the documents will also be available to view free of charge at the Council Headquarters in Dumfries (English Street, DG1 2DD), between 9am and 5pm.
