June Deadlines for $16 Million in P2 Grant Opportunities

Don’t miss the June 6 and June 20 deadlines for two grants to support states and Tribes in providing technical assistance to businesses to adopt P2 practices that advance environmental justice in underserved communities. Note that EPA has posted a minor amendment to the two P2 Grant Request for Applications posted in March 2023. The amendment clarifies that if an applicant submits multiple applications for an identical project (either in error or to replace a previously submitted application), EPA will only review the most recently submitted application, unless the applicant notifies Bridget Kelly (kelly.bridget@epa.gov) and specifies which application they want EPA to review.

2021 Toxics Release Inventory (TRI) Analysis

Companies that manage chemicals continue to make progress preventing pollution and reducing chemical releases in 2021, including by implementing nearly 3,500 P2 activities, according to the 2021 TRI National Analysis, which summarizes TRI chemical waste management activities, including releases, that occurred during calendar year 2021. The Analysis features updated visualizations and analytical tools to make data more useful and accessible to communities, policymakers and other stakeholders.

Chemical Data Reporting (CDR) National Review

This first-ever review makes information on domestic chemical production and imports more accessible to the public and helps people make important decisions in their communities. The Review summarizes the most recent reporting cycle data (2020), covering activities from 2016 to 2019 and provides trend data for reporting over the past decade. This interactive report shows that more than 7.2 trillion pounds of chemicals were manufactured or imported at 5,238 sites in the United States that reported to EPA for the 2020 CDR reporting cycle.
