 Rapid Response Team Activated to Assist Evergreen RV Employees in Elkhart Co.
INDIANAPOLIS (June 16, 2016) – The Indiana Department of Workforce Development (DWD) and its community partner, WorkOne Northern Indiana, have activated the state’s Rapid Response team to assist employees affected by the announcement that Evergreen Recreational Vehicles intends to close its production facility in Middlebury.
The state’s Rapid Response team is activated when a significant layoff or plant closure occurs. Its activities focus on connecting displaced employees with local employment opportunities, as well as providing resume assistance, interview workshops and skills assessments.
“Evergreen employees will have full access to knowledgeable WorkOne staff that can guide them toward a plan for expeditious re-employment,” said Steve Braun, DWD Commissioner. “WorkOne will immediately conduct Rapid Response sessions that connect affected employees with state and federal reemployment services.”
