The Food And Drug Administration will begin to utilize the following new PIC and Subclass Codes which will be effective 30 days from the issuance of this notice, for Industry Code 42 – “Edible Insects and Insect Derived Foods.” This aligns these product codes with other food product subclasses and PICs:

D Raw - Fresh, Frozen, Natural State
E Commercially Sterile
F Aseptic Pack
H Ntrl/Artfcl Dried

S Ultrapasteurized
T Packaged Food (Not Commercially Sterile)
