(FRANKFORT, KY) – The Kentucky Department of Education's (KDE's) Local School Board Members Advisory Council (LSBMAC) will meet on July 14, 2023, at 10 a.m. ET at Marriott Griffin Gate in Lexington..
The LSBMAC consists of 13 members. There is one member representing each of the seven judicial districts in the state. In addition, there are six at-large members. Beginning July 1, 2021, judicial district representatives shall serve a single two-year term, with subsequent terms beginning on July 1 of ODD numbered years. Beginning July 1, 2022, six at-large members shall be appointed to two-year terms expiring on June 30, 2024. Subsequent at-large terms will begin on July 1 of EVEN numbered years. NO member can seek an additional consecutive term but may be re-appointed after sitting out one term.
Beginning with the 2022-2023 council year, at least two members of the LSBMAC will also represent the Kentucky School Board Association (KSBA) Board of Directors.
