Rapid Response Team Activated to Assist Manitowoc
Beverage Employees in Sellersburg
INDIANAPOLIS (August 12, 2016) – The
Indiana Department of Workforce Development (DWD) and its community partner WorkOne Southern
Indiana have activated the state’s Rapid
Response team to assist employees affected by the announcement that Manitowoc
Beverage intends to close their facility in Sellersburg.
The
state’s Rapid Response team is activated when a significant layoff or plant
closure occurs and pairs knowledgeable WorkOne staff with displaced employees
to move them toward a plan for re-employment as soon as possible. Activities focus
on connecting displaced employees with local employment opportunities, in
addition to providing resume assistance, interview workshops and skills
assessments.
The
time and location of the first Rapid Response session will be announced in the
