Don’t miss the chance to provide input on the expansion of Safer Choice and/or the Design for the Environment (DfE) programs to potentially include certification of additional product categories beyond cleaners and disinfectants. EPA is seeking public comment on which new product categories Safer Choice and DfE could expand into and how the potential expansion offers significant benefit to human health and the environment.

This year during P2 Week, EPA will host regional P2 awards and a webinar on leveraging private sector standards and ecolabels to meet sustainability goals. Using Ecolabels to Enable Impactful Sustainable Procurement

Learn from EPA’s Environmentally Preferable Purchasing (EPP) program how it leverages private sector sustainability standards and ecolabels to help federal purchasers identify and procure environmentally preferable products and services to meet the ambitious goals set by Executive Order 14057, the Federal Sustainability Plan and other directives. The webinar will provide an overview of sustainability standards and ecolabels, EPA’s evaluation process of these resources, and the cost savings and environmental benefits of using standards and ecolabels for federal purchasing.

You’re Invited: Ceremony for the 26th Green Chemistry Challenge Awards

The winners of the 2023 Green Chemistry Challenge Awards will be honored at a ceremony at 3 p.m. on October 23, 2023, at the National Academy of Sciences in Washington, D.C. A reception will immediately follow the awards ceremony. The awards ceremony and reception are open to the public and registration is required.

Process Improvements to Reduce Carbon Footprints at Manufacturing Companies

September 21, 11 a.m. - noon EDT

Join EPA grantee Penn State University’s Pennsylvania Technical Assistance Program (PennTAP) for a webinar to explore ways to improve manufacturing processes to prevent carbon and other pollution at its source. The webinar will also feature case studies of P2 practices in the metal casting industry that can be applied in other manufacturing sectors.
