A student dropping out of school is always an unfortunate circumstance. When reintegrating a student back into the classroom is no longer an option, WorkOne can step in to provide crucial career services. Programs like WorkINdiana and JAG Indiana out-of-school services can guide out-of-school youth toward attaining their High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma while learning valuable skills to help them succeed in the workplace.
WorkINdiana WorkINdiana encourages attainment of an HSE while students earn a certificate or improve other skills. Students can choose from over 30 certifications.
JAG Indiana Out-of-School Program (OOS) These programs focus on young adults who have previously dropped out of school and are engaged in HSE attainment. JAG OOS Specialists work with students to improve post-school outcomes - be it employment, post-secondary education or military enlistment.
Please encourage students who have dropped out of high school or are likely to do so to contact their local WorkOne Career Center. A case manager will be assigned to them and cover potential options and programs available to them at no cost.

CHE Launches Nation's First Comprehensive Measure of College Value
The Indiana Commission for Higher Education recently unveiled the Indiana College Value Index—a statewide and campus-by-campus measure of the benefits and outcomes of postsecondary education.
The Indiana College Value Index provides college value profiles for all Indiana public college campuses. The index combines quantitative data from the Commission’s College Completion Report and Return on Investment Report with qualitative information from the Gallup-Indiana Alumni Survey as well as examples provided by the colleges.
“We are the first state to measure college value in a way that goes beyond the numbers to show not just how well
our campuses are doing but also how they can do better,” said Teresa Lubbers, Indiana Commissioner for Higher Education. “The Indiana College Value Index does
this by bringing together both quantitative and qualitative information, providing a more complete view of higher
education performance and value.”
The Indiana College Value Index was developed by the Commission with support from USA Funds. Furthermore, the Commission will partner with the Indiana Youth Institute to begin a year-long effort to
gain input from education, community, business and policy stakeholders to identify ways to improve,
share and use the Indiana College Value Index as a critical tool in postsecondary planning.
