NEW YOUTH PUBLIC HUNTING AREA IN BARTOW COUNTY OPENS OCTOBER 8: MAKE NOTE OF QUOTA HUNT DEADLINES

Hunters in Bartow County have a brand new youth public hunting area available this season!  The Pleasant Valley area has upland forest and wetland wildlife habitat and is located south of Adairsville along Pleasant Valley Road.

The usage of this area will be unique as it will focus on youth hunting opportunities.  These hunts will be quota only (deadlines approaching soon for some hunts) for one “party” at a time, where an adult can supervise one child for archery deer hunts or two children for waterfowl and other small game hunts.  This means that those chosen for the quota opportunity will have the area to themselves for that selected hunt.

This new area is one of several in Georgia in which landowners have worked with WRD in utilizing the U.S. Department of Agriculture funded Voluntary Public Access (VPA) Program to temporarily enter lands into the WRD Wildlife Management Area (WMA) system and for the purpose of allowing public hunting access.
