Building Community Capacity for Equitable COVID-19 Recovery funding update

The Center for Community Relations and Equity is thrilled to announce the 43 recipients of the Building Community Capacity for Equitable COVID-19 Recovery funding opportunity. All submitted Interest Forms demonstrated dedication and potential in their work. Projects supported by this funding will improve equitable access to COVID-19 vaccines, health information, and prevention resources as well as community capacity building and mobilization to advance health equity by addressing the structural and social determinants of health amplified by the COVID-19 pandemic.

COVID-19 self-testing guidance has changed

DOH updated the COVID-19 Self-Testing Guidance to remove the recommendation that people report their COVID-19 self-test results through Say Yes! COVID Test. If a person needs support while they isolate, they can call the DOH Care Connect Hotline at 1-833-453-0336 to report their positive test result.

Development for HB1470 rulemaking processes

As DOH is launched into the rulemaking process for Chapter 70.395 RCW: PRIVATE DETENTION FACILITIES (wa.gov) below are a series of the upcoming listening sessions. These sessions are for community members, family members and friends of detainees, and everyone who is interested in this new law and wants to be a part of helping shape how it is applied.

Please join listening session(s) by registering for one (or all) of these upcoming sessions: 

December 19, 2023, 5pm – 7pm (PST)

January 20, 2024, 1pm – 3pm (PST)
