Letter from the Mayor

Dear Washingtonians,

This week, we released one of my favorite deliverables: the Green Book. The Green Book is one of our best tools for leveraging the District’s procurement power to support and grow local businesses. It provides business owners with an agency-by-agency overview of upcoming opportunities and information on how to pursue them. For nine years, the Green Book has helped local entrepreneurs go after their fair shot.

Green Book Event

At the launch of the Green Book, local entrepreneur Stacie Whisonant spoke about the benefits of the Green Book and the Certified Business Enterprise (CBE) program.

When we are intentional about working with local businesses, we keep taxpayer dollars in DC; we also help businesses expand, and when they expand, they train and hire more DC residents.

All of that adds up to a fair shot for more Washingtonians.

Explore the Green Book at greenbookdc.com.

Sincerely,

Muriel Bowser
