Amplifying Community Voices: COVID Insights in 22 Languages
Washington State Department of Health sent this bulletin at 08/07/2024 03:00 PM PDT
Beloved community:
We are excited to finally unveil two community-led documents and invite you to join us in sharing these valuable resources. This collection of Voices from the Frontlines of COVID, available in 22 languages, amplifies the voices of community-based pandemic first responders and offers crucial insights for advancing health equity in Washington State.
"COVID Insights" provides policy, institutional and community recommendations to support continued recovery from the pandemic.
"A Chorus of COVID Chapbook" offers a space for reflection through poetry and journaling, honoring the personal experiences of this unprecedented time.
You can find images for each document cover in 22 languages from Amharic to Vietnamese. We invite you to share these documents and images widely in messages to your community via email and social media.
We know that for too many throughout the state, the harms from COVID-19 are ever present. Community Based Organizations (CBOs) were fundamental to the COVID response in our state and are just as important to its ongoing recovery. We have so much to learn from the wisdom of these trusted messengers in highlighting communities and people across Washington State who may not always be heard.
We will continue to listen, reflect, and most importantly, act on what they are saying.
