Rapid Response Team Activated to Assist Eli Lilly Employees

INDIANAPOLIS (January 9, 2017) - The Indiana Department of Workforce Development (DWD) and its community partner, EmployIndy, have activated the state’s Rapid Response team to assist employees in the Integrated Health Partners (IHP) / Cardiovascular Account Specialist (CAS) organization within Lilly's U.S. Bio-Medicines Business Unit. Eli Lilly & Company is ceasing its IHP/CAS field-based operations, which is comprised of 485 employees who work from their homes in different states. Less than 75 of these employees are based in Indiana.

The state’s Rapid Response team is activated when a significant layoff or plant closure occurs and pairs knowledgeable WorkOne staff with displaced employees to move them toward a plan for re-employment as soon as possible. Activities focus on connecting displaced employees with local employment opportunities as well as providing resume assistance, interview workshops and skills assessments.

The time and location of the first Rapid Response session will be announced in the near future. For more information, please email Lilly@EmployIndy.org.
