Nottinghamshire Economic Development Capital Fund

The latest round of funding provides capital grants from £20k to a maximum of £250k, to help businesses grow and employ more local people.

The grant can be used for:-

  • New equipment purchases and machinery
  • Other capital investments for expansion purposes like land or property.

Since its launch in 2014 the fund has helped more than 30 businesses providing grants worth £3.5m. The fund has also helped to attract a further £20.5 million from other public or private funding.

Grant scheme to support creative businesses looking to hire an apprentice

A new scheme is offering grants of up to £1,500 to support Nottinghamshire based creative businesses looking to take on their first apprentice.

10 supported apprenticeships are available through the scheme which is delivered through a partnership with Futures, New College Nottingham and the Nottingham Craft Academy.

Funding is only available to businesses which are based in the county of Nottinghamshire (excluding Nottingham City) and are looking to hire an apprentice for the first time. The apprentice must also live in Nottinghamshire.

Places are available on a first come, first served basis.

The grant scheme is funded by Nottinghamshire County Council and administered by Nottingham Craft Academy supported by Debbie Bryan.

Applications for grants to the scheme are due to close at 5pm on Friday 24th March 2017 (subject to availability).

FREE Workshop - 'Exercising Your Event Plan'

Are you an event organiser? Or do you hold events on your land/premise and still have owner’s liability?  Nottinghamshire multi agency Safety Advisory Group for events are running FREE workshops on:-

  • What does exercising your event plan look like?
  • Ideas of how to test if your event plan is fit for purpose
  • The issues/scenarios you may want to run through with your event organiser/organising committee

Dates: Monday 13th March 9.30am-12.30pm, Tuesday 28th March 9.30am-12.30pm & Saturday 1st April 10.00am-1.00pm

Support Prostate Cancer UK at the Diamond Charity Ball on Saturday 8th April at the Nottingham Belfry Hotel – tickets are just £35 to include a drinks reception, three course dinner and dancing to The Beat Roots.
