Bridge construction to close State Road 9 south of Pendleton in June

The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) has awarded a $695,000 contract to R.A. Myers Construction to rebuild the State Road 9 bridge over Lick Creek in southern Madison County.

The bridge is located about two miles south of Pendleton between Madison County Roads 950 and 1050 South.

Bridge construction will require closing State Road 9 for up to 150 days. The closure is currently scheduled to begin in late June. During the road closure, through highway traffic will be directed around construction via U.S. 36/State Road 67 and State Road 234.

A specific closure date will be announced in advance. All work on the project is expected to be complete in November.
