Updated Employer Contribution Rates table now posted

An updated version of the FY2017-18 employer contribution rates table is now available on the Contribution Rates page of the Employer Information website. The update reflects changes to the DC contribution rates per Public Act 92 of 2017. This table replaces the FY17-18 employer contribution rates table posted on March 13, 2017.

The table shows contribution rates due on members' wages paid between October 1, 2017, and January 31, 2018, and applies to K-12 school districts, intermediate school districts, community colleges, district libraries, public school academies/charter schools, and federal programs. The only column on the table that has changed is "Pension Plus to DC with PHF" – for employees who first worked after September 4, 2012 and elected the DC plan. Beginning 10/1/17, employers will contribute a mandatory 4% in addition to the employer match of 3%.

The employer contribution rates table with an effective date of February 1, 2018 will be published soon. That table will show changes to the DC contribution rates and include both member and employer contribution rates for the new Pension Plus 2 plan, available to new employees who will first work on or after February 1, 2018.

When using employer contribution rate tables, please check the effective date at the top.

For a description of what each of the elements of the contribution rates entail, please see Employer Contribution Rates: Terms, Definitions and Descriptions, also found on the Contribution Rates page on the Employer Information website.
