Dear Washingtonians,
Last week, I announced that Washington, DC will submit a response to Amazon’s Request For Proposals (RFP) for Amazon HQ2, the company’s second headquarters.
My team has already started gathering the information we need for our proposal and, in the coming weeks, we plan to submit a world-class response. Because this proposal affects you as District residents and stakeholders in our community, I value your input. I have asked residents and stakeholders in all eight wards to help my team by submitting testimonials about why DC is a great place to do business, suggestions for creative RFP response elements that showcase our city, and any other ideas you may have for the proposal.
With the RFP deadline quickly approaching, we need to have all feedback submitted by tomorrow, Friday, September 22. Please take a moment to check out alexawhydc.com and to share your thoughts and ideas about bringing Amazon HQ2 to Washington, DC.
Thank you in advance for working with us on this. Again, my team and I greatly value all that you are doing to make DC the global capital of inclusive innovation.
With our talented and diverse workforce, competitive business environment, multi-modal transportation infrastructure, robust tech and creative communities, and global connectivity, I believe the answer to the question of “Where should HQ2 go?” is “Obviously, DC.”
Sincerely,
This week, Mayor Bowser launched the DC Government’s first radio station, DC Radio 96.3 HD4, making Washington, DC one of only two municipalities in the United States with a full-power, city-owned radio station. The station, managed by the District’s Office of Cable Television, Film, Music, and Entertainment (OCTFME) in partnership with Howard University's WHUR Radio, will feature programming on government resources, news, emergency updates, community affairs, education, current events, arts, music, and entertainment.
DC Radio can be accessed on any HD4 radio and can also be streamed online at DCRadio.gov.
