November 30, 2017 | Vol. 3, Issue 48
Dear
Washingtonians,
Yesterday,
I hosted Rat Stat, an opportunity for experts and city leaders to come together
and discuss rat abatement in Washington, DC. At the meeting, representatives
from across DC Government shared updates on current abatement efforts and
gave recommendations for how we can do better.
As
I said in my letter two weeks ago, in recent years, the District has seen an
increase in rodent activity. This problem is not unique to Washington, DC
and it is believed to be the result of warmer winters. It is an issue we take
very seriously, and we are committed to implementing and strengthening
solutions that work for our residents and businesses.
Tonight,
we will broadcast Rat Stat on Channel 16 at 8:00 p.m. I encourage you to watch,
learn more about our efforts, and join the conversation on social media using
#backtobasicsDC.
Sincerely,
Last month, Dolores
Kendrick, poet laureate of Washington, DC, passed away. Dolores was a poet, an educator, a trailblazer, and a tremendous
source of inspiration for many, and her legacy will live on.
