Fostering Devon Newsletter 12/01/2018
Pantomime Fun!
On Friday evening (5th January 2018) we invited foster carers and their
families to the Northcott Theatre for a wonderful evening of comedy and
entertainment. The atmosphere was full of fun from the start as we followed
Dick Whittington and his faithful Puss on his travels from Exeter to the bright
lights of London in search of fame and fortune. We hope that everyone had a
brilliant night.
We’d
love to hear from any of the children (or their carers) who particularly
enjoyed themselves as we’d like to write a short news story about the evening
from their point of view. If you’d be happy to share your story please email childsc.fosteringoperationsmanager-mailbox@devon.gov.uk
and we’ll get in touch with a few simple questions for you to answer. The story
will be shared in this newsletter, on social media and via the website, all
names will be changed.
County Lines
Over the recent weeks a
disturbing and enlightening set of documentaries have been available on
the BBC iplayer investigating the issue of County Lines. What brings the issue ‘close to home’
is that the documentary was filmed in Yeovil and Weston- Super-Mare. Please
make the time to keep yourself up to date with this important issue and read
the attached document for a quick reminder of what to do if you are concerned.
Contributions to the Fostering Devon Newsletter
Got something interesting or important you’d like to include
in the newsletter? We welcome contributions from everyone – Fostering staff,
Foster Carers, partner organisations and teams such as Health, Education and Participations
– everyone who has a role to play supporting children and young people in care.
