For states, there will be no break in service, so please continue to submit your claims and all scheduled reviews and trainings will be held as planned.

We received communication from the USDA Regional Office this morning stating the following:

Due to a lapse in appropriations for the Department of Agriculture’s Food and Nutrition Service (FNS), as of Friday, January 19, 2018, an orderly partial shutdown of operations has resulted.

However, under the terms and conditions of the prior continuing resolution (P.L. 115-96), funding has been provided for the Child Nutrition Programs through March. The Child Nutrition Programs include the National School Lunch Program, the School Breakfast Program, the Special Milk Program, the Child and Adult Care Food Program, the Summer Food Service Program, the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program, and State Administrative Expenses.

State agencies are expected to continue to administer the program in accordance with Federal statute and regulations.
