State seeing shift toward value-based health care purchasing

Webinar series outlines successes in new programs

The Healthier Washington Paying for Value webinar series launched Jan. 31 with a report on a survey of health care payers that are participating in value-based payment (VBP) models. If you missed the webinar, which included an update on the Health Care Authority’s Value-based Roadmap, you can listen to the recording recently posted on the Healthier Washington website.

The webinar series continues Wednesday, February 14, noon to 1 p.m., with lessons learned on the HCA’s first Centers of Excellence program. Panelists will include representatives from Virginia Mason and Premera Blue Cross as the discussion highlights how the bundled payment strategy has helped to deliver quality care.
