Update From HMRC
HMRC is hosting a live
webinar for foster carers, explaining the important tax issues you need to know
about. During the webinar you’ll
learn about qualifying care relief and how to record this on your online tax
return, National Insurance and other important issues, such as the records you
need to keep for tax purposes.
Because it’s interactive you
can get answers to your questions and you won’t need a microphone or webcam.

at HMRC’s YouTube channel, which has short videos on
your ‘need to knows’ for tax? Follow HMRC on Twitter @HMRCBusiness, to make sure you’re kept up to

Clare's Law
This is a new leaflet produced by the Police and the Home Office explaining the Clare’s
Law process (Domestic Violence disclosure scheme). We are asked to share it with all DCC social work teams. It will be
helpful for professionals as well as the families we work with.
Enterprise Day For CiC In Years 9, 10 & 11
'Want to make
yourself more employable? Want to develop those important employ-ability
skills? Or just want to be confident when talking to people. Then why not come
along to our Work Preparation day delivered by CSW Enterprise, and learn all
the skills and qualities you will need to create a CV, prepare for an interview
and ask the right questions.
The day will
take place at County Hall on the 30th May 2018 starting at 10am and will finish
at 3pm, lunch will be included.
During the day
you will get the opportunity to work alongside people from business helping you
prepare and improve your career planning.
You will work
in small groups looking at what employers look for in their new employees. We
will cover employer expectation in terms of CVs, letters of application,
appropriate dress and inter-views.'
Please discuss
this with your Year 9, 10 and 11 CiC pupils and encourage them to attend.

Refer A Friend Scheme - up to £500 when you refer a
friend to foster
As you are a foster carer you will know how personally rewarding it is to
help shape a child’s future. So if you are passionate about what you do, and
can think of a friend or family member who would be a great foster-carer, why
don’t you tell them about our Refer A Friend Scheme?
You could receive up to £500 for every person you refer if they become
