Welcome to this month’s special update for district Chief Academic
Officers.
The Texas
Education Agency (TEA) will launch the free interim assessment
tool for the 2018–2019 school year. Test questions for the interim
assessments are developed with Texas teachers and use former STAAR items. The
interim assessments will provide actionable data for teachers to use to improve
instruction, at the student expectation level.
Reporting
for interim assessments will be provided through a new online reporting suite
in the Texas Assessment Management System. The online reporting suite will
include:
Customizable
reports with user-friendly graphs at the
- district-level,
- campus-level,
and
- student-level;
and
Student-level
reports that display
- student scores,
- student
responses,
- student
expectation,
- test questions,
and
- likelihood of
students achieving “Approaches”, “Meets”, and “Masters" grade
level expectations on STAAR.
ETS will be hosting a webinar training that provides information about the new online reporting suite.
