Welcome to this month’s update curated for district Chief Academic
Officers.
TEA has launched the free interim
assessment tool for the 2018–2019 school year. Test questions for the interim
assessments are developed with Texas teachers and include former STAAR items. The
interim assessments will provide actionable data for teachers to use to improve
instruction, at the student expectation level. Reporting for interim
assessments will be provided through a new online reporting suite in the Texas
Assessment Management System.
With the release of the new A-F Accountability System, TEA launched a new website to show how well different schools and districts are doing. Each report provides a in-depth look into how campuses and districts are performing overall and in different areas.
The Parent Guides were created to help families understand some of the things their child will
learn each school year. These resource documents have been developed for
Prekindergarten 3, Prekindergarten 4, Kindergarten, 1st Grade, and 2nd Grade in English and Spanish and may be distributed to families at various times during the school year.
TEA is in the process of revising Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs of study to reflect high wage, high demand occupations in Texas. The August 30th TAA provides additional details about the background, process, and next steps.
The full 2018 accountability data downloads are now
available in an Excel, comma-delimited, or tab-delimited format.
Additionally, the Accountability Ratings Domain Data Overview Report and the
Distinction Designation Data Overview Report are available.
These tools allow users to sort by domain score or distinction indicator
to determine how a campus performed in relation to other campuses in its campus
comparison group.
