Trade Policy Updates

Should an import containing FWS regulated products be diverted to another port due to Hurricane Florence, importers must ensure the diverted port is allowed for clearance.

If the shipment is diverted to a port that is either not designated for FWS clearance or the importer does not have a Designated Port Exception Permit (DPEP), the importer needs to move the shipment in-bond after diversion to an appropriate FWS port for clearance.

If a filer has already submitted an eDec for an import originally destined for a closed port, please work with the wildlife inspectors at the diverted port to ensure the port code is updated for the eDec.

The diverted merchandise must not be picked up from the carrier's premises until FWS clearance is received.
