Women Veteran Salute

The State of Wisconsin has a long history of providing generous benefits, programs and services to state residents who entered active duty from Wisconsin and continue to reside in the state.

These benefits, programs and services are provided by the State of Wisconsin in order to supplement and complement those provided to veterans by the federal government.

Wisconsin History Maker, Major General Marcia(RET) Anderson, Commands the Journey Ahead

Marcia Anderson was just looking to take a science class to fulfill her undergraduate science requirement for her art degree. She was not interested in the traditional science class with test tubes and microscopes, rather she signed up for a military science course that would fulfill the requirement. That class set her on course to becoming the first African American in the United States Army Reserve to attain the rank of major general, taking her place in our nation’s history.

Disabled Veterans Property Tax Credit

The State of Wisconsin offers disabled veterans or the unremarried, surviving spouse of a disabled veteran a refundable property tax credit for their primary, in-state residence and up to one acre of land. 

Now's the time to see if you can be certified to receive the Wisconsin Veterans and Surviving Spouses Property Tax Credit. Your local County Veterans Service Officer can help or visit our website to learn more.

The symptoms of a heart attack can differ in women versus men. Like men, the most common heart attack symptom for women is chest pain or discomfort.
