CSMS #42616136 -ACE to Begin Sending Warning Error Messages to Trade for EPA VNE Errors
On June 6, 2020 and July 11, 2020, CBP expects to deploy updates to eleven (11) EPA Vehicles and Engines (VNE) rules to Production.
When deployed, the updates will result in ACE sending a warning message to trade as part of the SX or AX message, if errors in the EPAVNE data are found. Currently, trade is not aware of the errors because trade does not receive a specific error message (only a generic ‘under review’), which leads to follow-up contact with EPA. Receiving the specific errors will save processing time since trade will be able to make timely corrections to address the error. The specific errors trade will receive are:
PH8 |
INVALID LPCO NUMBER PER PGA |
PF5 |
MISSING PG07 PER PGA |
P35 |
MSNG OR INVLD ITEM ID NUM QUAL PER PGA |
PE6 |
MISSING OR INVALID ITEM IDENT NUMBER |
PJ5 |
MSNG OR INVLD ENTITY ROLE CODE PER PGA |
PE8 |
MSNG OR INVALID MANUFACTURE DATE PER PGA |
PF9 |
MISSING MODEL CODE OR MODEL NAME PER PGA |
Trade can expect to start seeing these errors in the Certification region starting May 16. Filers will be notified via CSMS as to the specific errors that are moving into the Certification and Production environments on each deployment.
