Dear Mason District Community,
Thank you to everyone who has contacted me via email, phone, and social media with your thoughts, concerns, and questions regarding returning to school in the fall. While I am doing my best to respond personally to each inquiry, the sheer volume of questions being received presents a significant challenge in my ability to be timely in my response. Please be assured that I hear you and continue to share your questions with the Superintendent and FCPS leadership who are working tirelessly to finalize the details and answer your questions.
There is no doubt about it, this is an anxious time for all of us and we know that families and staff have many questions about the upcoming school year. As questions are being answered, they are posted to the website on the newly established FAQ webpages. Please see below for links to those pages as well as additional information that I hope you will find helpful to ultimately decide what is best for your family.
Meal service will continue at all existing food distribution sites (including bus routes) over the summer months. Please see below for detailed information.
Superintendent Brabrand will be holding another Town Hall Meeting on Monday, July 6, at 6:30 p.m. and will be prepared to answer as many of your questions as he can. A Spanish language virtual town hall will be held on Wednesday, July 8, at 6:30 p.m., also on Channel 99 and livestreamed, featuring Superintendent Brabrand and other school officials.
Even during these trying times, I hope that you and your families are able to find some respite during this holiday weekend.

FCPS Summer Meals Update
USDA and VDOE have approved meal service at all existing food distribution sites (including bus routes) over the summer months. Food and Nutrition Services will continue to monitor data and community feedback to adjust grab and go delivery points as needed.
Important Update: Meal distributions will not take place on Friday, July 3 as it is a federal holiday. The meal distribution will resume on Monday, July 6.
Bus Routes
Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) buses are delivering grab and go meals along some bus routes. School buses will stop at designated intersections to deliver these meals. Bus Route 11 serves the Mason District area. Please visit this webpage for detailed information on stops and times for this service.
Curbside Pickup
Both breakfast and lunch are available for pick up between 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Curbside meal pick-up stations are generally located in the bus lanes at the schools or in the kiss and ride area. Look for the canopy tent along with Food and Nutrition Services staff, who will deliver meals directly to vehicles.

FCPS sites
Breakfast and lunch (both meals can be picked up at the same time) are available from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at the locations listed below. The food distribution is set up outside at each site.

- Audubon Apartments, 10-10:30 a.m., 7930 Audubon Ave., Alexandria
- James Lee Community Center, 12-12:30 p.m., 2855 Annandale Rd, Falls Church
- Luther Jackson MS, 11-11:30 a.m., 3020 Gallows Rd, Falls Church
- Mason Crest ES, 10-10:30 a.m., 3705 Crest Dr, Annandale
- North Springfield ES, 10:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m., 7602 Heming Ct, North Springfield
- Oakview Garden Apartments, 10-10:30 a.m., 5827 Oakview Garden Drive, Falls Church (next to the basketball courts)
- Willston Multi-Cultural Center, 11-11:30 a.m., 6131 Willston Dr, Falls Church
