Small Business Environmental Council Meeting August 18

Recycling Excellence Awards nomination period open until Sept. 15

Are you aware of a community, organization, school or business that is excelling in its recycling or waste management program? The DNR recognizes outstanding recycling and waste minimization efforts through its annual Recycling Excellence Awards.

Awards are offered in four categories:

  • Projects and Initiatives
  • Overall Program
  • Special Events
  • Innovation

Nominate yourself or another by submitting the online form to Rachel Stark at rachel.stark@wisconsin.gov. Nominations are accepted until Sept. 15. Learn more, view past winners and obtain the nomination form on the Wisconsin Recycling Excellence Awards webpage

Water ePermit System: Storm Water Construction General Permit Application Updates

The DNR has made some minor changes to the online Storm Water Construction General Permit Application. The next time you start an application, you’ll see it has a new look and a more streamlined workflow. There are also new sections, including:

  • Required screening question regarding permanent storm water management facility proximity to wellhead protection areas, plus a reference link.
  • Required screening question regarding disturbed area proximity to contaminated properties, plus a reference link.
  • Optional on-site contact information section.

Pollution Prevention Waste Management Workshop

The Pollution Prevention Waste Management Workshop is a cooperative effort with The University of Texas at Arlington (UTA), the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to provide industry leaders with current information and professional development in the various aspects of pollution prevention.  This is a virtual event.
