Ahead of the national launch of the NHS COVID-19 app across England and Wales on Thursday 24 September, businesses like pubs, restaurants, hairdressers and cinemas should ensure they have NHS QR code posters visible on entry so customers who have downloaded the app can use their smartphones to easily check-in.
For information on how to create a QR code for your business and other advice, visit the NHS website.
From tomorrow (Friday 18 September) premises and venues across England like pubs, restaurants, hairdressers and cinemas must have a system in place by law to record contact details of their customers, visitors and staff.

Sign up for the Kickstart Scheme today, to give local young people the chance to have a six-month paid placement and help them get back on their feet.
If you can provide 25 hours of work a week, HM Treasury will cover the costs of minimum wage, pensions and National Insurance contributions.
Join this landmark scheme to help our young residents gain invaluable work experience and support them in securing a long-term job.
Businesses that are able to offer 30 or more roles can apply online through the GOV.UK website.
As the majority of organisations in East Hampshire don't have the availability to supply 30 roles, the Hampshire Chamber of Commerce has agreed to take on the role as a representative. They will gather information from businesses that have availability for the scheme and make the bid on their behalf.
Please contact their membership manager, Coral to proceed with the scheme: coral.benham@hampshirechamber.co.uk. You do not have to be a member of the Hampshire Chamber of Commerce to take part in this scheme.
Due to overwhelming interest, the call for expressions of interest in these grants from Enterprise M3 Local Enterprise Partnership has now closed.
Submissions will now be validated and those who are eligible will be contacted.
Once this process is complete, if there is a shortfall of applications, applications may re-open.
In the meantime, please take a look at the Growth Hub website for other sources of funding.
You may also wish to sign up for email bulletins from Enterprise M3 so you don’t miss out if applications reopen.
The government has announced that more than £22 million of additional funding is being invested into the broadband voucher scheme, which subsidises the costs of building gigabit-capable broadband networks to hard-to-reach areas.
