Dear Washingtonians,
If you see this on your phone, we need you to answer the call.
If this number is calling you, it means the DC Contact Trace Force needs to talk to you. By answering the call, you can protect yourself, your friends and family, your coworkers, and our entire community. Answering this call can help us save lives.
Remember: When the DC Contact Trace Force reaches out to you, it is because they need to gather more information about your health and/or your contacts. If you provide a list of contacts, our contact tracers will not give out your name to those contacts. Contact tracing is a critical part of stopping the spread of COVID-19, and it only works when the community participates.
Additionally, the DC Contact Trace Force will never ask for your immigration status, your social security number, your bank account details, or credit card numbers.
Help us stop the spread: answer the call!
Sincerely,
Q: Why is the flu vaccine especially important this year?
A: It’s likely that influenza (flu) viruses and the virus that causes COVID-19 will both spread this fall and winter. Getting the flu or COVID-19 can cause serious illness; catching both at the same time can make you very ill.
Q: Is the flu vaccine safe?
A: Flu vaccines are safe and will not cause flu illness.
Q: Do I need to get vaccinated even if I got vaccinated last year?
A: Flu viruses are constantly changing, so flu vaccines may be updated from one season to the next to protect against the viruses that will be common during the upcoming flu season. Your protection from a flu vaccine declines over time. Yearly vaccination is needed for the best protection.
Q: Who should get the flu vaccine?
A: Everyone six months and older should get a flu vaccine.
