Cycle lanes set to open

We are excited to announce the opening of the new cycle lanes on Gower Street and Bloomsbury Street.

From the afternoon of the 13th December, cyclists can travel on the new northbound and southbound segregated lanes.

Cycling on Gower Street / Bloomsbury Street

From the afternoon of Sunday 13th December the new segregated cycle lanes will be open on Gower Street and Bloomsbury Street in both directions.

Until the change on Gower Street / Bloomsbury Street to two way traffic in early 2021, cyclists will also be able to temporarily use parts of the new northbound traffic lane, which will be free from any vehicles.

New things to note:

  • The cycle lanes are segregated by a raised kerb in several places
  • When using these lanes please be aware of loading vehicles pulling in and out of the integrated timed loading bays

Christmas Bubble

Huntley Street cycle lanes

As part of our safe and healthy streets work in response to Covid-19, we are making changes to support cycling across Camden.

This includes adding a northbound cycling route on Huntley Street, between Torrington Place and Chenies Street. This will make it easier for you to make convenient and safe local journeys by bike.

You can share your views on this and our other schemes on our Commonplace Map.
