Tier 4 - support for our local businesses

Coronavirus update

Tier 4 - support for our local businesses

Tier 4 restrictions will be in place in East Hampshire from 00:01am on Boxing Day.

From that time, non-essential shops and those providing personal care (such as hair and nail salons) must close.

Hospitality, such as cafés and restaurants, will be restricted to takeaway services, click-and-collect, drive through and delivery.

A full list of which businesses must close – and what can stay open - can be found on the gov.uk website.

Grants, funding and how to apply

A number of grants are now available to support businesses dealing with the impact of coronavirus.

Full details on a range of support packages can be found on our business support webpage, but key grants include:

Local Restrictions Support Grant (Tier 4) for closed businesses

Grants are available to businesses required by law to close as a result of the Tier 4 restrictions.

Previous recipients of the Local Restrictions Support Grant in the second national lockdown (5 November to 2 December 2020) do not need to apply again. They will receive payment automatically.

Local restrictions support grant (Tier 2) for closed businesses

Grants are available to businesses required by law to close as a result of the previous Tier 2.

Christmas Support Payment for wet-led pubs

Grants are available to pubs that derive less than 50 per cent of their income from food sales and meet the scheme criteria.

Additional Restrictions Grant (from 26 December 2020)

Grant funding is available for closed businesses that do not directly pay business rates and businesses that do not have to close but which are adversely impacted by coronavirus. Businesses that cannot access a Tier 4 local restrictions support grant can apply.

Local Restrictions Support Grant (covering 5 November to 2 December 2020)

Grants are available to businesses forced to close in November as a result of national coronavirus restrictions. This scheme is still open to new applicants.
