CSMS #46278734 - The APHIS Core Message Set implementation documents have been updated
The APHIS (CORE) PGA Message Set: Implementation Guide, and APHIS Supplemental Trade Guide - Appendix APH-A, have been updated. Changes were made to allow filers to report the utilization of electronic phytosanitary certificates (ePhyto’s) within ACE. Electronic Phytosanitary certificates (aka ePhyto’s) are sent by participating foreign governments through the International Plant Convention (IPPC) ePhyto world hub, then to APHIS and then to ACE DIS environment. Only utilize LPCO type AE1 code if the phytosanitary certificates are being sent via this mechanism – otherwise report A01 for paper certificates.
APHIS has also corrected various typographical errors and provided business process clarifications throughout these documents. Important note to filers: APHIS is discontinuing the requirement to report the quantities of Bouquets and Bunches in PG26, as well as their PG07 groupings for the AP0800 Cut flower Commodity Category Type.
These changes are expected to be deployed in CBP’s Certification region on February 20, 2021 and expected in the Production region on March 20, 2021.
APHIS provides a multitude of resources that include the APHIS ACE website, the APHIS Core Implementation Guide, and the APHIS Supplemental Trade Guide. For individual support, please contact the APHIS Core message set help desk at ACE.ITDS@usda.gov.
