Letter from the Mayor

Dear Washingtonians,

For over a year, we have been in this together. Now, by getting our community vaccinated, we can recover and heal together.

On Monday, April 12 - in just a few days - all DC residents 16 and older will be eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine in Washington, DC. I am asking all residents to pre-register right now so that as soon as a vaccination appointment is available, we can reach out to you.

Vaccine PSA

And I know I've said it many times before, but please help us spread the word about how to pre-register and the importance of getting vaccinated. While we have been knocking on doors, making phone calls, sending out mailers, and so much more, we know that for many people, especially people who may be nervous to get vaccinated, the best and most effective communication comes from the people closest to them.

Make sure your friends and family know:

  1. The vaccines are safe and very effective
  2. The vaccines are free for everyone
  3. You can pre-register for an appointment by going to vaccinate.dc.gov or by calling 1-855-363-0333

The end is in sight. Take the shot, DC.

Sincerely,

Muriel Bowser

In addition to this local investment, Mayor Bowser announced that the District will receive from the American Rescue Plan a third round of Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief funds totaling over $386 million.
