This is the Third Step in the English Learner Identification Process
The New WIDA Screener for Kindergarten is currently being field tested to gather baseline data to establish a proficiency level criteria. After administering the KW-APT or the Kindergarten MODEL assessment for accountability, we are also asking practitioners to screen a minimum of 50% of these same students using the new WIDA Screener for Kindergarten, regardless of the proficiency results. This should be done within 2-3 days of administering the KW-APT or MODEL, if possible. Each district EL Coordinator will receive an email with a spreadsheet to enter results from the new Screener.

Wyoming-Specific Overview from 3:30-5:30 p.m. MDT on April 13, 2021
In this Wyoming-specific webinar, participants will be able to:
- Understand the purpose and background of the WIDA Kindergarten Screener.
- Explore the logistics for preparing to administer the Screener.
- Review the Kindergarten Screener materials.
- Identify the available accommodations on the Screener.
- Examine the test administration preparation.
- Ask questions.

March 8, 2021 Deadline Extended to April 12, 2021
- It is the responsibility of the District Test Coordinator (DTC) to ensure the SNTF is completed and submitted to the WDE, in the event a student did not complete all or any portion of the ACCESS or ALT ACCESS domain tests.
- The window to submit the SNTF will remain open through April 12, 2021.

Nomination Deadline: April 30, 2021
WIDA is seeking nominations for the third class of WIDA Fellows who are exemplary teachers of bilingual and multilingual learners.
Selected fellows serve for one (1) year with benefits and requirements to include:
- A $2,000 stipend.
- A waiver of the registration fee to the WIDA Annual Conference.
- Participation in a monthly online Professional Learning Community (PLC).
- Exclusive invitation to conversations with scholars.
- Collaborative exploration of common pedagogical topics of interest.
- Participation in a book study.
- Serving as a classroom implementation expert and critical friend to a specific professional learning design team.
- Sharing classroom practices and being featured in WIDA professional learning resources.
To nominate an educator, complete the WIDA Fellows Nomination form by April 30, 2021. Self-nominations will not be accepted.

The WIDA ELD Standards Framework team has released an FAQ series, 2020 Edition. Based on input from educators, this five-part series answers questions like:
- What are the major shifts in the 2020 Edition?
- How are the Key Language Uses (2020 Edition) different from the Can Do Descriptors, Key Uses Edition (2016)?
