COVID-19 Grants for Businesses
Coming Soon: Small Business Rental Assistance
This grant program was approved by the County Council to provide grants to small businesses in qualifying industries to support rental costs, both current and arrears rent payments. The grant is intended to mitigate the injury experienced by Montgomery County businesses as a result of the pandemic, especially in light of the extended duration of the hardship.
The Latino Economic Development Center (LEDC) will administrator this program on behalf of Montgomery County Government. A Program Overview is available on the LEDC web site, where businesses can learn more about eligibility and sign up to be notified when applications open.
Open Now: Small, Minority & Women Owned Business Account Loans/Grants
Maryland Relief Act funds for small, minority and woman-owned businesses will be disbursed through the Maryland department of Commerce’s existing Small, Minority, and Women-Owned Business Account, also known as the Video Lottery Terminal (VLT) program. Learn More

Reopening Montgomery
The County Council, sitting as the Board of Health, passed a new Board of Health Regulation that ties reopening requirements to the percentage of people in Montgomery County that have received the COVID-19 vaccination.

Summer RISE Host Registration is due Friday, May 7th.
Summer RISE helps students learn about career opportunities and while helping employers explore talent for their workforce pipelines.
The students expressed interest in a variety of industries and there are more students registered than opportunities available. Please consider hosting to help students learn more about careers they are interested in.

Energy Benchmarking Report Due
Montgomery County building owners are required to benchmark the energy use of their nonresidential buildings 50,000 square feet and greater in the county. The deadline for 2020 building energy benchmarking report is June 1, 2021.
