The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) is delaying implementation of the FWS Message Set in the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE). FWS is still in the process of formulating regulations requiring the utilization of ACE to submit import data for FWS regulated commodities, and therefore does not have an expected date for enforcement of mandatory submission in ACE.
A future CSMS message will announce the specific date of mandatory filing, at least 60 days prior to implementation.
All filers currently have the option to file FWS data when filing in ACE. For those filers who
are ready to file the FWS Message Set data in ACE, it is recommended that they do so. The FWS Implementation Guide and PGA Message Set samples are available via this link https://www.cbp.gov/trade/ace/catair. Scroll down and click the arrow for PGA Message Set Documents to expand the PGA documents. Then scroll down to the desired FWS link under implementation Guidelines.
As a reminder, FWS and the National Customs Brokers and Freight Forwarders Association
(NCBFFA) recorded an informational webinar on the FWS Message Set. For more information on FWS ACE filing requirements, please review the following FAQs:
