2021 Virtual Road Weather Management Stakeholder Meeting

August 4-5

Registration is now open for the 2021 Virtual Road Weather Management Stakeholder Meeting from August 4-5. The purpose of the meeting is to provide a venue for peer exchange between the transportation and weather communities consisting of State and local transportation agencies, academia, vendors, weather service providers (public and private), and consultants. Thank you to those who have already registered for the meeting.

Dates: To best accommodate a virtual platform, the meeting will be conducted across two days, 4 hours per day.

  • August 4, 2021 - August 5, 2021
  • Each day will run from 12:00-4:30 p.m. EDT (with a 30-minute break from 2:00-2:30 p.m.)

Location: VIRTUAL – Adobe Connect Platform

  • Information for optimal use of the software will be sent out with your registration confirmation.

Transportation Agencies—Call for Presentations: The Road Weather Management Program (RWMP) is reaching out to all transportation agencies for presenters/presentations for the stakeholder meeting on the following topics. If you are interested, please contact Tony Coventry at Tony.Coventry@dot.gov:

  • Innovative Solutions
  • Solutions: Impacts from Climate Change (Resiliency and Sustainability)
  • Implemented Strategies for Weather Responsive Management
  • Automated Vehicle Testing during Adverse Weather
  • Extreme Weather Event Experiences

Photo Contest—Extreme Weather: RWMP is having a photo contest at the stakeholder meeting. RWMP will select the top five photos from all submissions received by July 23, 2021. At the stakeholder meeting, the participants will vote to select the winner. All photos will be displayed during break. Rules for submitting a photo are as follows:

  • The photo should capture an extreme weather event that occurred in 2020 or 2021.
  • All photos submitted require a signed release.
  • Signed permission for use of the photo in future FHWA publications.
  • All registrants for the stakeholder meeting are eligible.
  • The “prize” will be bragging rights!
