June 2021

Hello,

The Strategic Workforce Development (SWD) Toolkit is new and improved with materials to help users fill the construction jobs that support the country’s highway system.

This Toolkit provides helpful workforce development resources in one place. The Highway Construction Workforce Partnership (HCWP) developed these new resources and innovative strategies to transition individuals into transportation careers by using the following three steps:

  1. Identify.
  2. Train.
  3. Place.

The SWD Toolkit highlights best practices and success stories from those that have benefited from HCWP. The construction industry, government entities, and other partner organizations may use the provided resources to learn more about establishing an HCWP.

As new materials to IDENTIFY, TRAIN, and PLACE individuals become available, we will update the SWD Toolkit to support efforts to place individuals in the transportation field.
