JOB UPDATES FROM THE MAINE DEPARTMENT OF LABOR
Week of June 14, 2021
YOUNG PEOPLE AT WORK
With schools in Maine getting out for the summer right now, many employers will be eager to hire young people for the season. Minors under 16 must obtain a work permit before beginning a job. This includes home-schoolers. They must get a new permit every time they begin a new job until they reach 16, even if they work for their parents.
